The Above diagram shows the 4 speed Set Up Using a Standard Gear in 1st Gear place on a Plain Layshaft

and by putting Gear Ratios in different places within the Gearbox

The above is showing the comparison of using a 5 Speed 2nd Gear in a 4 Speed Gearbox
(RH at top of diagram shows 5 Speed 2nd Hubbed Gear)

The above diagram Shows a Slide on 1st Input Gear with fixed Reverse Input Gear,
followed by the Spacer (HC-234-6)

When used in a 4 Speed Gearbox set ups 1) and 2) can be used as direct replacements for each other
But check the set up within the Gearbox to the diagrams below to see where and how they fit into the Gearbox
