Oil Scan works on the same principle as a doctor uses blood testing to indicate a patient's health. As lubricant travels around equipment it collects valuable information about its operating conditions. This information is extracted using modern and sophisticated laboratory analysis.

Oil Scan personnel use this data along with any historical information to diagnose the condition of the equipment and the lubricant.

The following are suggested test packages for each type of equipment
ENGINES: Metals, Water, Soot Insolubles, Flash Point, Viscosity, Total Acid Number.
GEAR SYSTEMS: Metals, Water, Solids, Viscosity, Total Acid Number.

The data is recorded, reported and stored using Oil Scan software.

The software allows access to an extensive database of historical oil and equipment information. This ensures accurate trending analysis in machine wear, contamination and general deterioration.

Using this information, along with any background knowledge supplied by yourself, the Oil Scan diagnostician will be able to provide an up to date assessment of the condition of both the equipment and the lubricant. Serious problems will be advised immediately by telephone or fax with a mailed report follow up.
